Ethical Practice & Code of Conduct

Effective date: 28 September 2025
Reviewed: Annually or when services or professional standards change.

1. Our Purpose

Your ADHD Home exists to provide supportive, practical guidance for families raising neurodivergent children.
We combine professional expertise with lived experience to create a safe, empathetic, and empowering environment.

This Code of Conduct outlines the ethical standards and professional behaviours that guide our work and underpin everything we do.

2. Our Core Principles

Respect and Dignity

We treat every client, colleague, and collaborator with respect, compassion, and understanding.
We recognise the individuality of every person and respect all differences in background, culture, identity, beliefs, and lived experience.

Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice

We view neurodiversity as a natural and valuable part of human variation.
Our role is to help families build environments and routines that support the strengths and needs of neurodivergent individuals - never to “fix” them.

Confidentiality and Trust

We protect all information shared with us in line with our Confidentiality and Privacy Policies.
We only share information when we have consent or a legal obligation to do so, such as safeguarding concerns.

Professional Integrity

We are honest and transparent in our communication, pricing and services.
We only offer advice and support within our professional competence and experience, and we signpost clients to other specialists when needed.

Boundaries

We maintain clear, respectful boundaries in all professional relationships.
Our work is supportive, not therapeutic, and we do not replace clinical or medical care.

Equality and Inclusion

We are committed to fairness, inclusion, and accessibility in all aspects of our work.
We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment in any form.

Continuous Learning

We are committed to ongoing professional development, reflection, and learning.
We stay up to date with research, best practice, and evolving understanding of ADHD and neurodiversity.

3. Ethical Decision-Making

When faced with complex or sensitive situations, we follow this approach:

  1. Reflect on our professional responsibilities and ethical principles.
  2. Seek supervision, advice, or peer consultation where appropriate.
  3. Prioritise the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of those involved.
  4. Record key decisions and reasoning transparently.

4. Professional Boundaries with Clients

  • We will always act in the best interests of clients and maintain professional distance.
  • We will not exploit relationships for personal, financial, or professional gain.
  • We will respond appropriately and respectfully if boundaries are challenged or blurred.

5. Accountability

We welcome feedback and encourage open dialogue about our practice.
Concerns about ethical or professional conduct can be raised through our Complaints Policy, and will be addressed fairly and promptly.

6. Upholding the Code

This Code applies to all representatives, associates, or contractors working under the Your ADHD Home brand.
Breaches of this Code may result in review, retraining, or termination of working relationships.

7. Review and Reflection

This Code is reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with our values and current professional standards.
